What's your purpose? What is the best way to live your life on this planet? These questions are central to the psychology field, but finding an answer isn't easy. For help, I review research studies on how people cope with death, depression, and aging. Psychology is more than just what you might see in textbooks; it's about understanding yourself and others. It's about seeing the world as you really know it: multifaceted and often scary. From grief to happiness, these topics will be explored throughout this blog post. To discover more about psychology read "f 3.85mm Megapixel 10x Digital Zoom download driver. 647" "Funerals and Graveyards in Psychology" offers a study in the ways people cope with death. Funerals are a time where we can find ourselves asking, "What is it all for?" As we ask ourselves this question, we begin to realize that the world is a bigger place than our own world. In turn, we understand that not all of us will live as long as others, and as time passes the circle of life will continue to spin. One of my favorite concepts from "Funerals and Graveyards in Psychology" is that of the cycle of life. This concept explains how death gives meaning to life because it makes you appreciate what you have today. One of my favorite quotes from the cycle of life is that "the grass grows in the shadow of death." If you can't see that, then you are in no place to be happy. "The Benefits of Seeing Your World in Multiple Ways" is an article about how to see your world with multiple lenses. This way your view of the world will be more complete and accurate. For example, if you only view your political party as right and righteous, then you will never understand what is going on with the other side. This leads to hatred and further more divide between two sides that should be more connected. One of the examples given is that of a black man who believed that all white people are evil. Over time, he became friends with a man who he realized had the same skin tone as his racist father. This enabled him to view his father's racism through an entirely new lens because he saw his own skin color as human not evil. "How to Stay Young When You Feel Old" looks at ageism, or discrimination based on age. Society has taught us that it's okay to discriminate against old people because they are considered different from the younger generation. One of my favorite quotes from "How to Stay Young When You Feel Old" is "Ageism is prejudice plus power. This means that an older person can be treated badly by a younger person, but a younger person will never be called ageist for doing so." Society has been taught to feel appalled at old people because of this ageism. In the article, "Innocence of Children," Innocent of Children looks at how children see the world. In today's world, there are many rules and facts that we have been taught from a young age. As we grow up these rules become more ingrained into our minds. The innocence of children is lost as they develop immunity to these facts. However, some cultures still teach their children differently from how society would expect them to think. cfa1e77820
